I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant, BABCP Accredited High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and BACP Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor.
Experience & Specialisms:
I have experience in working in the NHS Talking Therapies Services (formally IAPT), within tertiary services and in private practice.
I specialise in working with trauma and have a lot of experience working with front-line and blue light workers. I currently work with services such as Police and the Royal Marines and have experience in providing trauma therapy to those who have experienced trauma in any other area of life. I have provided first-line responsive treatment to those affected by and immediately following major incidents. I also have significant experience of working with bereavement and complex grief.
I provide EMDR supervision (one to one and as a group) for therapists seeking consultation and those working towards EMDR Europe Accreditation. (Please make contact to discuss fees relating to this).
I provide full assessment and treatment for psychological difficulties including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma and sub-threshold trauma symptoms, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, life stressors and burnout, medically unexplained symptoms, long-term conditions, family issues, divorce, separation, anger management and low self-esteem.
I provide a professional, confidential and respectful psychotherapy service in a comfortable setting in Burscough. I also provide online therapy via common platforms such as Zoom. Home visits can also be requested depending on location and suitability.
I am none judgmental and respectful of all people, no matter what their background - this is core to my values.
I have a full clearance with the Data & Barring Service (DBS). I am fully insured for my practice and am fully compliant with GDPR requirements as an ICO registered practitioner.

16 years working in the NHS and within Talking Therapies (formally IAPT) services providing assessment, treatment and onward referrals for the full spectrum of psychological difficulties and disorders.
Providing trauma therapy to first-response / blue light workers including Police, Fire, Ambulance, Air Rescue, Royal Marines, Army and Navy Veterans.
Providing immediate trauma treatment following major incidents.
In addition, I have previous experience of working with adults affected by Stroke, those with learning difficulties and disabilities, their carers, parents and guardians.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
