Viki Jones - BA(hons) MA PgDip UKCP reg HCPC reg
Sessions are aimed to help explore your issues and consider deeper, more healthy patterns of relating. Initially we would meet for an initial assessment to talk about what you want from therapy, what I can help you with and how we can work together. We would then meet regularly and review our progress at regular intervals. My main aim is that you feel comfortable and that you feel able to be open in therapy.
I am very down to earth and I have many years experience working with people with lots of different issues. I can offer long term and short term work. Most of all I feel it’s important to work in a way that works for you.
I have achieved a few different qualifications which demonstrates my ethical and varied practice. This means I can tailor the way I work to your needs.
You may want to share your story, or you may need support in carrying your daily burdens. I work with adults that are motivated to engage in the process of therapy from a Wakefield city centre office.
I am available to work with those seeking therapy or supervision. You may be a student or trainee needing support or supervision in your journey to become a Therapist.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
Health and Care Professions Council
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Some issues which may bring you to therapy:
Trauma, loneliness, isolation, nightmares/dreams, shame, confidence issues, low self esteem, relationships issues, despair, anxiety, anger, irritability, gender, sexuality, coping with change, mental health issues.
Are you thinking of therapy…maybe for yourself or someone you know?
It’s not always that easy to ask for, or even to receive help. I understand this. Sometimes it can be easier to try to figure things out by yourself. At times we all bury our heads in the sand hoping that things will go away…sometimes issues do seem to go away, disappear or change. These issues have a habit of popping back into our lives whether we want them to or not. I offer a safe space to think through your issues and together we can reach a more comfortable place.
I believe if someone is finding things hard or difficult they need to be heard sooner rather than later, I offer day, evening and weekend appointments.
if you’re not sure if therapy is for you please contact me to discuss your needs further.
My main practice is in Wakefield town centre, there is available parking (meter) right outside.
