About me

You might look as though you are coping well on the outside, yet privately feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or stuck in relationship patterns that keep repeating. Perhaps you overthink conversations long after they have ended, question whether you are too much or not enough, or find yourself working hard to keep others happy while neglecting your own needs. You may appear capable and successful, yet struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, or relationships that leave you feeling unseen or misunderstood.

I work with adults who feel stuck in the same kinds of relationship difficulties and patterns that can show up across friendships, romantic relationships, family dynamics, or in how you relate to yourself. You might find yourself giving more than you receive, avoiding difficult conversations, or shutting down when things feel too intense. Together, we can begin to understand how these relationship patterns originally formed and, crucially, how you can start to respond differently.

Many clients come to me having already tried to change things on their own. They understand themselves to some degree they can see the pattern but something keeps them stuck. That gap between knowing and changing is often where therapy becomes most useful.

My approach is integrative, drawing from Gestalt, Psychodynamic and CBT perspectives. This means I can work with what is happening right now in your life, while also exploring how earlier relational experiences may still be shaping your present relationships and behaviour. I aim to offer a steady, compassionate space where you feel genuinely heard and supported to move towards meaningful, lasting change.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am completely fascinated by how we work and our endless ability to adapt to life’s challenges and as such, have been studying psychology since 2016 and began training as a psychotherapeutic counsellor 5 years ago. I have 6 years of experience working within NHS mental health services in various roles, and currently work part-time as a mental health practitioner in primary care mental health services. This has allowed me to work with people from all walks of life, experiencing a variety of different struggles.

I am committed to developing my counselling practice and, as such, am completing a part-time advanced training as a psychotherapist at Birmingham Newman University.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on ideas from Gestalt, Psychodynamic, and CBT approaches. This allows me to understand your experiences from different psychological perspectives and adapt the therapy to what will support you best. At the heart of my work, I prioritise the therapeutic relationship, which means it is my job to create a space that feels comfortable and supportive to help you navigate through this process of change.

I will always tailor our work to your individual needs. This might involve exploring your unconscious processes, which shape the way you think, feel and make sense of the world. Other times, we may focus on what is happening here and now. This may also include a gentle therapeutic challenge when needed as part of my commitment to your therapeutic goals.
