MBACP Registered counsellor and psychotherapist

About me

If you grew up around chaos, addiction, emotional neglect, or relationships that didn’t feel safe — you might have become the “strong one”. The fixer. The peacemaker. The one who copes.
But underneath, you’re exhausted… and you don’t know how to stop.

I offer a warm, down-to-earth space for people who feel stuck in survival mode — anxious, overwhelmed, numb, constantly overthinking, or quietly struggling behind a capable exterior. My style is relational, supportive, and real. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back while you try to hold it all alone. I work actively and alongside you, helping you make sense of what’s happening and begin to rebuild.

My work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. I know what it means to grow up with childhood trauma and dysfunction, to be affected by addiction, and to find yourself repeating patterns in relationships that don’t feel emotionally safe. I also understand the reality of co-dependence, people-pleasing, and what it’s like to lose your sense of self over time.

I have strong working-class roots, and I bring that groundedness into my work. Therapy with me is not about judgement, labels, or being told what you “should” do — it’s about honesty, safety, and real change.

How I work
I work relationally and in a trauma-informed way, which means I pay close attention to how your past still shows up in the present — in your nervous system, your confidence, your boundaries, and your relationships.

Many people come to therapy feeling confused about why they keep ending up in the same situations, why they struggle to trust themselves, or why they feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions. Often, these patterns make perfect sense when we understand what you had to do to survive earlier in life.

My approach is compassionate, steady, and non-judgemental, while also gently challenging when it helps. I work at a pace that feels safe, because I understand that for many people, simply being open and vulnerable can feel like a risk.

What I can help with
I specialise in working with:

Childhood trauma and family dysfunction
Domestic abuse and coercive control
Emotionally unsafe or toxic relationships
Co-dependence, people-pleasing, and low self-esteem
Addiction (your own or someone close to you)
Anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional burnout
Relationship difficulties, attachment wounds, and repeated patterns
I am particularly experienced in supporting people who feel like they’ve spent their life “getting on with it” — while inside they feel lost, stuck, or constantly on edge.

Experience
Alongside private practice, I have extensive experience working in the voluntary sector across South London. Since 2019, I have worked with Sutton Women’s Centre, delivering the Freedom Programme (a domestic abuse awareness and recovery programme), as well as self-esteem and women-only support groups. I have also provided domestic abuse training to professionals within the London Borough of Sutton.

What you can expect
Therapy with me is a space where you can stop performing, stop coping, and start feeling like yourself again.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded and easy to talk to. I aim to offer a space that feels emotionally safe, supportive and steady — where you can explore what you’ve been through and begin to rebuild self-trust, confidence and stronger boundaries.

If you’re ready to feel clearer, stronger, and more connected to yourself, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
