About me

My aim is to provide compassionate, person-centred integrative counselling tailored to your individual needs, whether you're an adult, a teenager, or a child.

Life can be complex, presenting challenges like career stress, relationship issues, past trauma and personal development hurdles. In our sessions, I’ll work with you to navigate these complexities, providing a space for reflection, understanding, and growth.

I have a particular interest in working with women navigating changing relationships and separation and supporting teachers who work tirelessly to support our young people.

At the heart of my practice is a person-centred integrative approach. This means I place you at the centre of the therapeutic process, creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Integrative counselling is a flexible and comprehensive approach to therapy that combines techniques from various therapeutic disciplines to suit your unique needs. Rather than adhering strictly to one method, integrative counselling draws on different strategies and practices to provide a tailored and holistic experience. This could include using therapeutic techniques including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-based Brief Therapy (SBFT).

Counselling for Teens

The teenage years are a pivotal time filled with change and development. Having worked with young people in the education system for 20 years, I understand the pressures they might be facing, whether they’re academic, social, or personal.

My counselling services for teens can address issues such as academic pressure, social dynamics, self-esteem, and a wide range of mental health concerns and are designed to help build resilience, confidence, and coping skills during these formative years.

Counselling for Children

With specialised training in counselling children aged 9+, I use age-appropriate techniques, to help children express themselves, understand their emotions, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. This might involve talking therapy combined with creative strategies such as sand tray exploration, Lego therapy or art therapy.

I offer face-to-face counselling sessions from my practice room in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Alternatively, I offer online and telephone counselling, as well as walk and talk therapy (at Pittville and Hatherley Park), if preferred.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
