About me
Hi, my name is Vic and I am an experienced integrative Counsellor/ Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist. For those unfamiliar with the (often complicated!) jargon of the therapy world, integrative simply means that I am trained to use different ways of working, depending on the person I am working with. From CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) I can adapt how I work to suit you and if something doesn't fit with you then we can try something else.
I have experience of working in mental health services in the NHS as well as with a number of charities. I work with people experiencing a broad range of difficulties; ranging from stress, anxiety, to depression or a bereavement. I am compassionate, empathetic and caring. I am also a firm believer in supporting and empowering every individual to reach their full potential and manage their own mental health well. Making a difference to the lives of others is important to me.
I respect and care for the many clients I have met through my counselling experience and have worked with lots of different types of people. I take confidentiality very seriously and maintain appropriate boundaries conducting myself in a professional and ethical manner at all times in accordance with the BACP (British association of counselling and psychotherapy) Ethical guidelines. I ultimately believe that everyone is worthy of respect and I passionately believe in equality.
I am an excellent listener and value the opinions and thoughts of others I meet. I am personable, approachable and friendly. I passionately believe in encouraging every individual to reach their full potential in life and pride myself on seeing the positive attributes of people. From time to time we all need a safe impartial space to explore our challenges, free from judgement. I can offer face to face or online (via Skype) sessions to fit around your work and life commitments. And for those that prefer a less conventional (but equally efficient) approach, Ecotherapy (or 'walk and talk counselling') is a great alternative. Contact me to see if I can help you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
