About me
I am Victoria Gonticas, an integrative counsellor working with various therapeutic modalities to offer an individualised approach unique to your needs to help you explore and overcome difficulties. Through compassion, individuals can make changes to live the life they desire.
With a 23-year career in finance and the corporate world, I am well versed in the pressures of high-level stress, having worked in London, New York, Paris, and Madrid. After my own journey of loss and bereavement, I came to retrain as a counsellor from 2018. During the Coronavirus pandemic, I started supporting clients over the telephone and via e-counselling for the charities Cruse Bereavement Care and The Listening Place followed by in-person sessions. I have also helped clients in a clinical setting within the National Health Service (NHS).
I provide a safe, confidential space for you to gain insight and self-awareness where, over time, you can learn how to manage stressful experiences or difficult emotions to lead a healthier and happier life. I am a member of the BACP. I offer short and long-term therapy either in-person for adults and couples at my central London practice room as well as online and telephone sessions. I work across a wide range of issues such as loss and grief, abuse, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, depression, low self-worth and work-related stress. I also offer therapy sessions in Greek, French and Spanish.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Graduate Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling from Goldsmiths University, and a Level 3 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling. I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and a Diploma in integrative counselling from The Awareness Centre and a Diploma in Couples Counselling I am also a certified Online Counsellor.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
‘Victoria is a great professional; actively listening and looking at the heart of issues, not superficial situations. My partner and I are currently working on resolving conflicts, using tools and resources Victoria suggested for us. She is looking at the core, using emotional scale and we are becoming aware of what is triggering us to fall back into conflict. In all her work, Victoria is gentle and respectful in guiding without traumatising. If someone is in doubt which professional to use-I would highly recommend Victoria’- Anonymous
