About me

Whether you're facing something painful, feeling stuck, or simply looking for someone to talk things through with, I offer a space where you can explore what’s going on for you, with compassion and support.

I am a BACP-registered counsellor with experience helping people through a wide range of issues including anxiety, self esteem, trauma, loss, and relationship issues. My approach is psychodynamic, which can help bring awareness to the emotional processes that shape how you feel. This may include exploring past experiences and how they continue to influence how you feel and relate. Together, we can reflect on patterns that may no longer serve you and build greater self-understanding.

Counselling offers a different kind of conversation, one where you can speak freely without advice or judgment. It is a space just for you, where you can be heard. My aim is to build a trusting relationship where you feel supported to bring whatever you need to share, and where meaningful change can begin. I work in a way that is responsive to your needs, focusing on what feels most helpful to you.

I work in St Albans and Wheathampstead but also offer sessions online.

If you feel this could be helpful, I welcome you to get in touch. I offer a free initial call so we can explore what is bringing you to therapy and give you a sense of how I work. If it feels like a good fit, we can arrange a first session.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Advanced certificate in clinical skills
  • Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling
  • Foundation Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling

In addition to my private practice, I work as a counsellor in the charitable sector, supporting a diverse range of individuals. I have also volunteered for a charity supporting women back to work and a charity supporting women impacted by breast cancer.

Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked in a corporate environment and understand the challenges that work related stress, uncertainty and change can place on mental well being.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
