About me
I support the people who are doing their best to keep everything together but still end up feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or unfulfilled. I know how the juggle of life commitments like work, family, relationships and other responsibilities can leave us with little time to think of ourselves, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious or worn out. Especially if a curveball or unexpected news is thrown our way. I offer a calm, supportive space and practical therapy based tools to make sense of what you're experiencing and explore what could help you feel more comfortable, confident and fulfilled.
Sessions with me draw on my qualifications in Person-Centred Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy. My approach is warm, collaborative and practical. I believe therapy should give you space to be heard and understood, while also helping you explore ways of making meaningful changes. We can look at what is happening for you now, how it affects your relationships and everyday life, and where appropriate explore some of the deeper patterns that may be influencing how you feel.
Alongside my therapeutic qualifications, my professional experience within the corporate, NHS, charitable and SEND educational sectors provides a broad understanding of the different pressures people can experience and the most appropriate approaches to support these.
I offer daytime and evening sessions remotely via Microsoft Teams or telephone. I offer this as I appreciate the value that online sessions provide you with the convenience, flexibility and privacy of having your session from a place where you feel comfortable.
Our first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy including what you'd maybe like to be different and what you hope to gain from our work together. You don't have to know exactly what you need before contacting me as we can begin by making sense of things together.
As therapy progresses, we can then regularly review how you feel the sessions are going and recognise the changes you are noticing.
If you're considering therapy but aren't sure whether it's right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch by email to discuss an initial session or arrange a short complimentary telephone call. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions and get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you, with no pressure or obligation.
I'd love to hear from you if you have any questions or would like to book a session directly so please feel welcome to contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
- FdA Contemporary Approaches to Counselling
- Diploma in Person Centred Therapy
- IPT UK Accredited Practitioner training
- MSc Biosciences
- BSc (Hons) Genetics
I have a bit of unique background with a corporate background and degrees in Genetics and Biosciences before becoming a qualified counsellor. This allows me to gently provide a scientific approach to my sessions alongside the therapeutic techniques I use. This means when relevant I can help clients understand the biology behind how they are feeling and also provide practical tools with scientific rationale behind them.
I also have specialist experience related to interpersonal relationships, trauma, family dynamic issues, relationship breakdowns, pregnancy, infertility and issues related to neurodiversity and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I currently offer sessions 9am-2pm and selected evenings 6pm-9pm. All sessions are conducted remotely via video (MS Teams) or the telephone. This allows clients the freedom to choose your own time and location for attending sessions.
This works well if you need to fit sessions around your busy lifestyle as you don’t need to factor in travel time. I’m flexible to accommodate around shift patterns if required.
You are also welcome to have younger children present during your sessions, as I understand childcare is not always available.
I work with clients nationally across the UK.
