Valerie Lyons BSc (Hons), MBACP, Counsellor and Supervisor
Hello my name is Valerie - mostly called Val, welcome to my counselling space:- safe, relaxed and non judgemental.
My "theoretical approach" is Integrative and I work creatively within a variety of counselling styles to suit your specific needs. I will always listen to you without judgement and with respect at all times. I understand that the decision to come to counselling can be quite a difficult one, and feel quite daunting. I wish to make you feel at ease in my private counselling space.
My private practice is set in a quiet, discreet location and parking is available for you. I have a private, secure and comfortable purpose built office enabling me to offer a safe and confidential space for your counselling sessions.
I do work with children, adolescents and young people as well as adults. Creative materials are available to you if you wish to work in this way.
My background is as a registered nurse, having spent over 18 years working in the NHS in both hospital, hospice and community settings. My experience as a nurse and counsellor has given me valuable insight into the challenges faced through life's stages and the difficulties individuals may face. Modern day life can be stressful, hectic and unpredictable.
I offer short, medium or long term therapy to suit you, on a confidential and professional basis. Home visits are available at an extra charge.
