About me

Seeking support takes courage, and I am continually humbled by the trust people place in me when sharing their experiences, challenges, and vulnerabilities. I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, respect and authenticity. Together, we will work at your pace to explore the difficulties you are facing and support you towards greater understanding, healing and meaningful change.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a qualified Person Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist my approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic theories and techniques to tailor our work to your individual needs.

I work in accordance with the ethical principles of the BACP Ethical Framework, which ensures safe, ethical and professional practice at all times.

Alongside my counselling practice, I bring over 18 years of experience working within education and therapeutic support roles. This includes work as a Trauma-informed SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Lead, Family Support Practitioner and Therapeutic Support Practitioner for children, young people and families.

Throughout my career, I have supported individuals and families facing a wide range of complex and often challenging circumstances. This includes anxiety  neurodiversity, specifically ADHD and Autism, trauma,  domestic violence and abuse, emotional distress and family difficulties. I also have experience in providing bereavement and loss support, trauma-informed care and emotional support in highly sensitive end of life and life-changing situations.

These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how life events, relationships and adversity can impact emotional wellbeing. They have also strengthened my belief in the importance of safe, trusting therapeutic relationships as the foundation for healing, growth, and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
