About me
There are times when life can feel difficult to manage on your own. You may be struggling with anxiety or overthinking, grieving a loss, experiencing difficulties in a relationship, or going through a change in your life that has left you feeling unsettled or overwhelmed.
Or perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on what’s wrong - you just know that you don’t feel like yourself.
I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and founder of The Listening House. I offer a warm, down-to-earth and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely heard.
I believe counselling is about working together. I won’t tell you what you should do or give you advice. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you as we gently explore what is happening in your life, how you are feeling and any patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Having the space to talk things through can help you process your thoughts and feelings, understand yourself more fully, and begin to find a way forward that feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
My journey into counselling came later in life, after many years working in banking and finance. Experiences in my own life led me to counselling myself, and experiencing what it was like to have somewhere I could talk honestly and be listened to without judgement eventually led me to retrain as a counsellor.
That experience has stayed with me. I understand that coming to counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you are used to coping on your own or being the person who is there for everybody else.
Alongside my private practice, I have supported people experiencing bereavement through my work with Cruse Bereavement Support and have worked therapeutically with young people in a secondary school.

Choosing a counsellor is personal. Qualifications and experience matter, but so does finding someone you feel comfortable talking to.
That’s why I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. It gives us a chance to talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling, for you to ask any questions and, most importantly, to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me.
