About me
People come to psychotherapy because they are suffering. Maybe you are holding some sort of pain, tension or difficulty that you cannot seem to budge. It could be that on the outside you appear to keep it together but, on the inside, there is angst, fear and apprehension. Maybe you feel lost, cannot see a way out and come to the realisation that you might need some help. There are times in our lives when we need a guide to help us navigate our distress and struggles. Sometimes we cannot see the wood through the trees, and we need the help of another to find the way out.
It is understandable that speaking with a stranger may feel daunting. But speaking with a therapist has its benefits and can help. It provides a space where you can express your truth without judgement, and be seen, met and appreciated for who you really are. You do not need to put on a mask or meet others’ expectations. Together, we can explore and enquire into what is happening for you. We can look at what might be driving your difficulties, what needs attention and what needs to be expressed. We can then work towards what changes need to happen for you to lead a life more defined by freedom, authenticity and resilience. Change is always possible.
I am a fully accredited UKCP certified psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience of working in mental health. I have primarily worked in crisis teams where I helped people in the extremes of distress. I can work with a variety of difficulties but specialise in helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and childhood adversity. I take an integral approach which means I can work in various different modalities to suit your needs. For example, I can work somatically with the body, or psychodynamically with unconscious processes and dreams. I am also an authorised meditation teacher.
Although I have broad knowledge base of different therapeutic approaches, the essence of my approach is simple. It is to listen at deep level so that you are heard, met and fully accepted. I won’t hide behind obscure theories or use jargon. I know it is the quality of the relationship that fosters change, not the modality.
I have total trust and confidence that beneath your struggles and conditioning there is a heart of health and goodness. I see my job a recognising, tending to and nurturing this deeper aspect of you. This is a natural process of uncovering and peeling back the layers, so that your true, authentic self can shine through.
I offer a free complementary consultation. This is a good opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to each other and for you to ask questions about the process and how I work. Then, if you feel comfortable, we can meet face to face either or online. There is no obligation for you to continue after our first session together.
I work from home in South Bristol. There is plenty free and secure parking available.
If you have any questions or want more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would be happy answer.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
