About me
Hello, I'm Tom. I’m a BACP Registered Humanistic Integrative Counsellor based in Bournemouth, Dorset, offering face-to-face counselling locally, as well as online and telephone counselling for adults (18+) across the UK.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to navigate. You may be trying to understand yourself better, make sense of your experiences, or find a way forward through challenges you are facing. I offer a warm, authentic and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where we can explore what is important to you at a pace that feels right.
I work collaboratively, tailoring counselling to you rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. Together, we can develop greater self-understanding, recognise patterns, explore coping strategies where helpful, and work towards changes that feel meaningful and aligned with your values.
My approach is Neurodivergent-Affirming and Autism-Informed, and I'm experienced in supporting Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD clients seeking greater self-understanding, acceptance and authenticity.
If you would like to discuss how I might support you, or explore any adjustments that could help you feel comfortable, please feel free to get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience working with clients from a range of ages, gender identities and cultural backgrounds, supporting people with challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, confidence difficulties, stress, anger, bereavement, relationship difficulties and life changes.
I have particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients, and my practice is Autism-Informed and Neurodivergent-Affirming. My professional training and lived experience inform my understanding of how neurodivergence may shape the way someone experiences, processes and interacts with the world. I aim to create a space where Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD clients (including those who self-identify) can feel understood, accepted and supported.
I support experiences such as masking, burnout, sensory overwhelm, identity, relationships and self-understanding, as well as thoughts and feelings around diagnosis. You do not need a formal diagnosis to work with me, and I welcome those exploring their neurodivergent identity.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Sessions are £50 per 50-minute session, and will usually take place weekly; however, we can discuss the frequency and duration of sessions and adapt this where appropriate to meet your needs.
