Hi I'm Thelma; person centred counsellor, Dip counselling; MBACP: Dip SW - BA (hons) in social work and accredited Life coach:
I am a Therapeutic consultant and parent practitioner ,specialising in safeguarding and trauma informed practice.
I am a certified practitioner of the REWIND technique, a trauma informed intervention developed by Dr . David Muss, a leading figure in the field of psychotherapeutic trauma. Dr Muss pioneered this method to help individuals reprocess traumatic memories, and or flashbacks safely and effectively- without the need to re live or disclose distressing details,its non intrusive approach does not re introduce traumatic events.
Rewind can also help reduce the emotional intensity of 'phobias', the fear responses can soften, allowing you a sense of freedom and control when facing triggers - empowering you to take control.
With over 30 years experience as a children’s social work practitioner, therapeutic social worker, qualified person centred counsellor /therapist and life coach.

As a person centred therapist and qualified social worker, I have spent years supporting children, parents, and professionals to navigate safeguarding, trauma, and emotional well being. I am now combining my experience to offer a bespoke 'mindful parenting trauma informed practice ' to families experiencing challenging and emotional issues related to their child’s emotional well being: this can include emotional school based avoidance, anxiety, dysregulation, friendship groups and general anxiety. Support includes: developing strategies and psycho- education tools, parenting tips, creating a sense of empowerment and confidence:
I understand that when your child cant go to school, it is not defiance! it is distress!
I support families to understand what may be underneath school based anxiety, and offer calm creative ways to support both you and your child to rebuild trust and confidence.
I also offer support, guidance, and awareness around legislation including safeguarding the needs of children and in particular 'The children Act 1989/ children and Families Act 2014/ Working Together to safeguard children (2018): incorporated in workshops and guidance for counsellors, professionals, teachers and schools.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Fees: per individual Adult session are £75.00 paid 24 hours in advance.
Rewind session package -£150.00 x 1 initial session and follow up.
Children fees: ages 6-16- £60.00 per session: paid 24 hours in advance.
Student fees: £45.00 per session - paid 24 hours in advance.
Counselling packages : offered: Invest in your emotional well being with a 5 - session bundle at a reduced rate;

Standard Adult rate £75.00 /sessions or 5 block sessions at 10% discount- £337.50 to be paid in advance.
Standard child rate £60.00per session = £300.00 or 5 block sessions at 10% discount-=£270.00 to be paid in advance.
Standard student rate £45.00 per session =£225.00 or 5 block sessions at 10% discount= £202.50 to be paid in advance.
Parent and child sessions- £90.00 per session or 10% discount at £405.00 for 5 block sessions. (Mindful parenting support )
I also offer bespoke training and work shops around reconnecting with your inner child, building confidence, manifesting and understanding limiting self beliefs and exploring imposter syndrome.
I also complete Life story work and trauma informed therapeutic counselling for children.
