About us

Our clients are people who need therapy that lasts and can't pay London private rates to get it. Many finished a short course of NHS sessions and found the work had only just started. Others are still on a waiting list. They bring anxiety, low mood, grief, families that are hard work, relationships that keep repeating the same pattern.

What helps is time.

I assess everyone myself: 50 minutes on what you're bringing and what would actually help, then match you with one of our trainee counsellors for weekly sessions with no fixed end date.

Open-ended weekly counselling at £35 a session, in person on Lavender Hill. We work relationally and integratively, with what's actually happening between us in the room, not a fixed protocol. Anxiety, low mood, relationships, family, work, grief, and the things that don't have a name yet.

You don't have to be in crisis to come, and you don't have to know what you'd say. Plenty of people get in touch unsure whether they qualify, or whether it's bad enough. That's what the assessment is for. If we're not the right fit, I'll say so honestly and point you towards something that is.

Training, qualifications & experience

You will first meet with a qualified therapist for a 50-minute assessment session to get a fuller picture of what you are bringing to therapy and how to work in therapy. Then you will be carefully allocated to one of our trainee therapists for open-ended, weekly therapy sessions.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
