Training, qualifications & experience
Sharon Baker CTA(P) UKCP Registered.
I am a qualified psychotherapist. Among the issues I work with are bereavement, relationship issues, stress, anxiety, depression, confidence building, the relationship between food, exercise, weight and body size or shape and coming to terms with a long or chronic illness. Everyone can face challenges and difficulties in life sometimes. I can provide a safe space for you to talk through your difficulties, explore your feelings and help you cope.
Charlene Robinson BA PGCert PGDip MA
I support and empower women to live the life they most want to live using counselling and psychotherapy.
It may be that past trauma is affecting your present, your relationships feel unhealthy, you are always putting on a brave face or that you want to understand yourself better. Therapy is a great way to maintain good mental health.
For 20+ years I have worked exclusively in the supportive professions providing mental health and drug and alcohol support within the NHS, voluntary organisations and charities. I have experience facilitating a women’s group and as a counsellor at a Women’s Centre.
I am in advanced clinical training at the Berne Institute
John-Jackson (JJ) Almond
John-Jackson (JJ) Almond is an Advanced Trainee in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, currently training at The Berne Institute under regular clinical supervision.
Before training as a psychotherapist, JJ built a rich and varied career across both business and the arts. He has held senior leadership roles globally and brings a wealth of experience working with people, managing teams, and navigating complex relational dynamics. This background informs his therapeutic work, allowing him to bring both depth and creativity to his practice.
At the core of JJ’s approach is the belief that meaningful change happens in relationship. He offers a warm, collaborative space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface – whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking greater understanding. With a particular interest in how early experiences shape our present, JJ uses Transactional Analysis to support lasting growth and insight.
JJ is passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ clients, those living with or affected by HIV, and people in the creative industries. He provides an open, affirming therapeutic space where identity, sexuality, health, and creative expression can be explored safely and without judgement. Whether navigating stigma, relationships, emotional wellbeing or the pressures of a creative life, JJ brings sensitivity, understanding, and lived awareness to this important work.

Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
