About me

I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to talk openly and freely, knowing that what you say will be held in confidence.

I offer support in holding difficult emotional experiences while also finding a way forward, thinking about growth and change that may be needed and helpful. My role is to help you find a sense of steadiness within yourself and in relation to others, so that life feels more secure, loving and connected.

Why therapy?

People come to therapy for a wide variety of reasons. You might use the space to process difficult feelings or past trauma(s) or to get support in managing anxiety and low mood. You may come with a specific challenge, relationship issue or a difficult decision or transition, where speaking to someone outside of your established network could offer clarity and a way to move forward.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, relational and integrative. I primarily draw from the person-centred and psychodynamic approach which are non-directive therapies.

Sessions are led by you and whatever feels most relevant for you to discuss. You may like to talk about your moods, dreams, memories, desires, relationships, uncomfortable feelings or long-standing coping strategies. I welcome complexity, messiness, contradiction and stuff that is hard to articulate or feels 'wrong' to say.

My practice is neurodiverse friendly & affirming of LGBTQIA+ identities, non-monogamy and kink.

My experience

I am a qualified, BACP accredited psychotherapist. In the past I have worked as a therapist for an LGBTQIA+ charity and in a diverse clinical setting. I am currently working as a sessional counsellor for Rainbow Mind in Salford.

I have experience working with a range of challenges including; depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, social anxiety, abuse, childhood trauma, relationship problems, grief and bereavement, oppression/marginalisation and navigating life transitions such as starting university, changing careers or beginning/ending relationships.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
