About me

I’m Terri, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. Reaching out for therapy is rarely an easy step and I aim to offer a space where you can explore whatever you are facing with openness, honesty and support.

I am a registered member of the BACP and I work with males and females aged 14+. I can offer long-term or short-term therapy. As an integrative therapist, I use a range of approaches depending on what you need. Therapy with me is collaborative, guided by your needs and what feels right for you.

I believe everyone can lead a more fulfilling life and make meaningful change when they feel supported and understood.

You don’t need to know exactly what you’re feeling or fully understand what’s going on for you, many people come to me feeling this way. We can make sense of this together at your own pace.

If you’d like to explore whether we would be a good fit, feel free to get in touch. You’re welcome to ask any questions with no pressure or expectation to commit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic counselling trained in person-centred therapy. I have been qualified since 2021 and have experience of working with a variety of issues. Most of my work so far has been working with those who have experienced domestic and sexual abuse.

I also work for an EAP where people present with a wide variety of issues such as bereavement, difficulties in relationships, workplace problems, confidence, self-belief, parenting issues and many more.

In 2016 I began volunteering for a mental health charity where I went on to become employed as a recovery worker supporting those with mild to moderate mental ill health. I was there for 5 years and worked 1-1 and in group settings to help people recover using a variety of methods including CBT techniques, relaxation techniques and more.

I previously worked at Living Without Abuse (LWA), a domestic and sexual abuse charity, between 2022-2025 as the Counselling Coordinator for their counselling service.

I currently work with teens at LWA who have experienced or witnessed domestic and sexual abuse.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
