About me
I know that sometimes life can become overwhelming. Feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, or doubt can all build up until we struggle to cope on our own anymore and are left feeling stuck. We may lack confidence in ourselves or feel like we are not good enough. Whatever it is that has brought you here, whether these feelings are new or you have lived with them for a long time, I can offer you the space you need to make sense of your experiences.
I believe that the path to healing begins with being truly heard. In our sessions I will offer you a compassionate, empathic, non-judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we can reflect on what comes up for you, fostering insight, self-understanding, and a deeper connection to your inner self.
If you would like to see if we'd be a good fit together, I warmly invite you to get in touch to arrange a 20-minute introductory call. This will provide you the opportunity to get a feel for the way I work, ask any questions you may have, and share what you hope to get out of counselling. I can offer sessions both online across the UK, or in-person at the Edinbugrh Therapy Centre in Leith.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the University of Edinburgh and achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling. I also hold a COSCA Counselling Diploma, a Certificate in Counselling Skills, and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Dundee.
Since beginning my counselling journey, I have worked with clients of all ages on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, loneliness, perfectionism, bereavement, relationship difficulties and more.
After initially working with students in a university counselling service, I now volunteer at the PF Counselling Service which strives to offer affordable counselling in Edinburgh. Here I work with a wide variety of people of different ages, backgrounds, and genders, all with their own unique struggles. It has been an honour to work with each and every person, and such diversity has afforded me a broader perspective of the human experience. I have learned the importance of personalising my approach to suit the unique needs of every individual.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My way of working is tailored to your unique needs by blending and integrating two types of therapy:
- Person-centred Approach
The person-centred approach prioritises your freedom as a client and the provision of a non-judgemental, empathic space in which you are able to explore your emotions and experiences at your own pace.
Rather than offering you advice or solutions, my approach is non-directive. I believe in the ethos that “you are the expert on your own life”, so rather than being led by me you are free to focus on whatever feels important in every session. I may, at times, gently challenge you or offer you a new perspective, but this is always done with care, curiosity, and the aim of deepening your understanding of who you are.
- Psychodynamic Therapy
I believe that we are walking history books. The relationships and experiences we had in childhood are continually shaping who we are today and how we relate to others. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to understand how your past is impacting your present.
If it feels helpful for you, I may invite you to revisit certain aspects of your past and consider whether there may be unconscious patterns causing you pain and holding you back. Together, we can become aware of these patterns and understand how they began, thereby empowering you to break free from old cycles and make more conscious choices moving forward.
