About me

I am a qualified integrative therapist with a Person-Centred foundation, drawing on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and existential thinking to suit each client’s unique needs. I offer support to adults from diverse backgrounds with a range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, grief, work-related stress, and relationship difficulties.

My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when we feel heard and understood. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

I offer short-term and open-ended counselling via face-to-face, telephone, or online sessions. In addition to private practice, I work with EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) clients and also on occasion, teach counselling skills at a university level.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills from Leeds Beckett University. My training is rooted in a Person-Centred approach, with further development in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), bereavement support, and online and telephone counselling.

I engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development to maintain ethical and reflective practice.

My clinical work includes private practice, employee assistance programmes (EAP), and voluntary counselling roles. I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, bereavement, work-related stress, and relational challenges. In addition to my counselling work, I also teach counselling skills at a university level.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
