About me
You or someone you know may encounter challenging, stressful or traumatic life events such as redundancy, financial problems, settling into a new environment, family issues, bereavement, relationship break-ups, serious illnesses, being a victim of violence and extreme situations. If you feel swamped by your emotional and psychological difficulties and you are struggling to understand your problems, I will support you to find the right answers.
My job is to help you look after your emotional wellbeing and I will work together with you to clarify your concerns and challenges and then identify meaningful and lasting changes you would like to make in order to live a more fulfilling life. My job will not stop there as I will also empower you to achieve your goals, to find your own solutions to your difficulties, to develop your own strengths and skills and ultimately, to become your own therapist.
I have a range of qualifications and a wide experience as a counsellor and a psychotherapist and I provide short term or long term therapy/coaching for individuals and couples.
Originally a Romanian national, I was brought up in Bucharest where I was a teacher of English, translator and interpreter before settling in the UK with my English family.
In England, while a volunteer with the Samaritans, I retrained as a counsellor/psychotherapist and I worked both for a counselling agency and in my private practice, having the opportunity to gain a wide range of counselling experience.
The aim of individual counselling is to facilitate change and improve the individual's quality of life, the aim of couple counselling is also to facilitate change by equally supporting both partners to improve the way they communicate and reach their own conclusions about their relationship. There are couples who decide to see a counsellor when they already have deep-rooted issues, but there are other couples who want to see a counsellor for "preventative therapy" which has become a popular option lately for those who wish to make their relationship last.
Whatever your issues or your relationship difficulties are, I will provide the support you require to deal with your problems.
If you are looking for a professional, safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment where you can feel free to explore your emotions, feelings and thoughts, give me a call, send an email or a text message.
I run my private practice in Chichester, in a quiet and pleasant location. Off street parking is available and a bus stop is near by.
Daytime, evening and Saturday appointments are available.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

"I have found the sessions with Lana very helpful and insightful. I will look at things in a different way from now on. It has been not only supportive, but also informative and educational. I have learned so much about myself and how I can get more in control of my life. Thank you." S.P.
"I have never had counselling before and I didn't think I would ever need it, but life can throw terrible things at us when we least expect it. I had no idea what to do and how to cope with my new life, I felt so confused. Now I can definitely say that counselling saved me, changed me, and showed me that life can be lived in different and more satisfying ways. Thank you Lana for your professionalism and patience." M.S.
