About us
We offer affordable and accessible therapy for adults (18 years and above) of all genders, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. In a safe, supportive, and confidential space, we help you explore your thoughts and feelings, support you through life's challenges, and empower you to make positive changes.
We help with: depression, anxiety, stress, complex or unresolved relationship problems, and issues related to low self-esteem and self-worth. We also assist clients facing difficulties such as bereavement, trauma, workplace stress, and adapting to significant life changes.
Our therapeutic approach aims to create a safe and confidential environment where individuals can explore their issues in depth, gain a better understanding of themselves, and develop healthier coping strategies to enhance their overall well-being.
Our counsellors will not give you advice; instead, they will provide a non-judgmental space to explore your difficulties. For some, this brings relief, clarity, and much-needed change.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating. In the initial session, we will gather the necessary information about you and your current challenges, address your questions, and help you determine the next steps forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
Counselling at SCCP is provided by experienced, qualified and trainee counsellors and psychotherapists on recognised training programmes.
Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
