About me
Asking for help is a big step and so it is important to find a person that you feel comfortable with.
Finding a therapist can be daunting especially when there are so many profiles to choose from. If you find yourself regularly asking ChatGPT for support, maybe it's time to speak with someone. Take your time, go with a person you can open up to, not because you think you should.
As a qualified counselling therapist, what I do best is to listen without judgement.
We can unpick the confusing thoughts and feelings together. I work creatively, so if talking gets too much, I have different methods to help express what might be going on.
How do you want to see, feel, think in a month/6 months/year's time?
Sometimes it's not obvious what the issue is and sometimes you'll just need to talk things out - I can help with that.
What can I help you with?
The types of issues I can help you with are:
- trauma
- loss and bereavement
- cancer treatment/diagnosis
- anxiety
- lived experience of ADHD
- managing anger and difficult emotions
- low self-esteem
- menopausal symptoms
- family/relationship issues.
Whether you’re coping with something that has happened now or in the past, I will work with you at your speed, safely, with kindness. I hold space as a British South Asian and am aware of the internal and cultural conflicts.
What experience do I have?
I have worked with the YMCA’s youth counselling service with 14 - 25 year olds and within Women's Health at NHS. I am now in private practice where I see many different people from all walks of life and have worked one-to-one for over 15 years.
My experience also extends to working with military personnel both serving and veterans with mental health issues and transitioning back into civilian life. I have worked within a Prison and with ex offenders with settling back into the community.
What happens next?
1. We will have a chat and discuss what the issues are, any questions you have and whether I am the right person to help.
2. Then your first session will be an assessment, where I get to know you a little better, look at what we focus on and that you are happy to work together.
3. Further therapy takes place in a private comfortable therapy room based in Peterborough, which is easily accessible with parking. Otherwise anywhere in the UK or world via Zoom or telephone. I also provide a walk and talk therapy service where it is appropriate.
I hold full professional indemnity insurance.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
