About me

Beginning counselling can feel like a big step, whether you’re seeking support through a difficult time, hoping to process past experiences, or wanting to understand yourself more deeply. I aim to offer a calm, compassionate, and professional space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of what’s going on inside you.

I am an NCPS-registered, culturally and spiritually sensitive, bilingual counsellor (fluent in Pothwari and Urdu) offering a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential space for exploration at your own pace.

My practice is integrative, meaning I tailor my approach to your unique needs by drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities:

Person-Centred Therapy: Provides a supportive, empathetic environment where you are encouraged to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. This approach fosters self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) elements: Offers practical tools to recognise and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, helping you manage anxiety, stress, and low mood.

Gestalt Therapy: Focuses on increasing awareness of the present moment and understanding patterns in relationships and behaviour. This approach helps you connect with your emotions and experiences in a holistic way.

Psychodynamic approaches: Explores past experiences, unconscious patterns, and internal conflicts that shape your current behaviour and emotional responses. This helps uncover root causes and promotes deeper insight.

Mindfulness techniques: Support emotional regulation and help you stay grounded in the present.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, having completed the full professional training pathway through Level 2 and Level 3 Counselling qualifications.

I am a Registered Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and work in accordance with their ethical framework.

In addition to my counselling qualification, I am professionally trained as a Parent Coach, integrating therapeutic insight with practical relational guidance for mothers and families with a focus on inner child work.

I am also a qualified teacher, which brings a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the emotional and behavioural needs of children and families.

My training and professional background underpin the depth, care and integrity I bring to my private practice.

Further information

My hope is to help you reconnect with your sense of self and purpose, so you can understand not only what is happening in your life, but why it matters to you. Together, we explore the experiences, emotions and patterns that shape your inner world. Through this process, we begin to uncover meaning, work through pain, and move towards a more grounded and fulfilling way forward.

I see therapy as a collaborative process built on trust, honesty and genuine connection. Sessions offer a reflective and supportive space where you can speak openly while also gaining insight into the thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be influencing your life. Depending on your needs, our work might involve managing anxiety, understanding relationship dynamics, processing difficult past experiences, or exploring questions around identity, meaning and direction.

I work flexibly and responsively, adapting our work as your journey unfolds. At times we may focus on present challenges; at other times we may explore earlier experiences that continue to shape how you experience yourself and your relationships today. My aim is always to create a space where you feel heard, understood and supported to make meaningful and lasting change.

I also offer counselling from an Islamic perspective for clients who wish to integrate faith into their therapeutic journey. This may include reflecting on concepts such as nafs al-mutma'inna, a state of inner tranquillity and alignment. At the same time, I warmly welcome clients from all backgrounds and perspectives.

Mental wellbeing forms the foundation for every other part of our lives. When our inner world feels balanced, we are better able to navigate life’s challenges. When it feels unsettled or overwhelmed, life can begin to feel heavy or confusing. In our work together, we explore not only how experiences and relationships affect you, but also the deeper patterns that may keep you feeling stuck, an exploration that often opens the door to greater self-understanding and growth.

Pain, grief and struggle are part of every human life. When left unprocessed, they can show up as anger, sadness, anxiety, depression or even physical symptoms. When given space and understanding, they can become powerful catalysts for growth and transformation. My work supports you in making sense of your experiences, processing what needs attention, and developing greater self-awareness, resilience and stability.

At the heart of my work are three core values: sincerity, clarity and patience. Sincerity involves a commitment to honest self-reflection and understanding our intentions. Clarity is about clearing the internal fog so we can see our lives and patterns more clearly. Patience recognises that meaningful growth takes time, and that small, meaningful steps often create the most lasting change.

If you feel that this approach resonates with you, I invite you to get in touch to explore whether working together might be the right fit.
