About me

Counselling for Adults and Teenagers

It can be scary and nerve wracking taking that first step towards counselling. It's hard to know what to expect and it's hard to open up to a stranger. The most important thing to remember is there is no judgement. We all struggle at times and we all need someone to talk to. I offer my clients kindness, compassion and understanding. It's my job to make my clients feel comfortable.

I tailor my approach to match your needs. I help you to make sense of what you're feeling and why and then look at how you would like to feel and how you can get there. In counselling the relationship is really important and therefore it's important to me that you feel heard and understood so that you trust me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

It is an absolute privilege to work alongside people and I never take this for granted. I love my work! it's wonderful to be able to help others to live a better, more fulfilling life. I have a passion for working with young people too. I think the society we live in is incredibly stressful and taking the step to seek counselling can really help you to navigate the stresses and strains of life. Go on, take that first step and reach out. You won't regret it.

I work from my home. I'm happy to chat over a cup of tea or coffee in my counselling room. Sometimes if my clients are finding it hard to talk about how they are feeling I use other ways to help them express themselves. I like to help my clients to feel relaxed and valued.
