About me
Hi, I’m Stu — your friendly, down to earth counsellor with a genuine passion for helping people figure things out.
I’m a registered member of the BACP and bring with me a varied background, real-world experience, and a down-to-earth approach that clients of all ages find refreshing and reassuring.
Maybe anxiety is running the show lately and you’re not sure how to switch it off.
Maybe low mood is creeping in and you’re feeling stuck.
Maybe you’re a parent, watching your teenager wrestle with anger, anxiety, or shutting down socially—and you just want to help them find their way.
Whoever you are, you’re welcome here.
Sessions are informal, relaxed, and honest. We’ll talk, laugh, ask big questions, and go at your pace. I’m not here to judge or lecture—I’m here to walk alongside you and help you make sense of what’s going on.
I offer a free 20 minute consultation because I firmly believe therapy only works when there’s a real connection between you and your therapist. This time is a no-pressure opportunity for you to get a feel for me, the space, and how we might work together.
When working with teenagers, I know they don’t always want to talk—and that’s okay. With years of experience and plenty of creative strategies up my sleeve, I take the time to earn their trust and build a solid rapport. I’ve seen how powerful that connection can be in helping them open up in their own time.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
