About me

Hi, I’m Stuart – a UKCP-accredited Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist.

I offer a steady, compassionate space for deep, ongoing therapeutic work. The kind of work that helps you understand why things feel the way they do - and supports you in making lasting, meaningful change.

Many of the people I work with have already done a lot of coping and surviving. They’re used to being the strong one, holding everything together, or feeling responsible for everyone else. Often, they reach a point where that way of living simply isn’t sustainable anymore - and they’re ready to begin understanding themselves on a deeper level.

Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes or advice. It’s a committed process of self-exploration that unfolds week by week, through an honest and real relationship. We go at your pace, but we stay with what matters - even when it’s difficult - because that’s where growth happens.

I work relationally, drawing on Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches. That means our focus is on you; your lived experience, your relationships, and the patterns that shape how you meet the world.

Clients often come to me around issues of self-worth, identity, trauma, or grief - especially those who grew up with narcissistic, emotionally unavailable, or abusive parents. My aim is to help you connect with your own truth and learn to live from that place, rather than from old wounds or expectations.

I trained for six years at the Metanoia Institute in Ealing - one of the UK’s leading psychotherapy trainings - and I now form part of the teaching team there too. My work is held within a strong ethical framework, regular supervision, and deep ongoing personal development.

If you’re ready to engage in therapy as a regular, ongoing process - a space to explore, understand, and transform - I’d be glad to hear from you. We can arrange an initial consultation to see if working together feels right.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a PGDip and MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy, having trained for five years at the highly-regarded Metanoia Institute in London.

My experience includes working at MCPS, CGL STARS (addiction) in Southend-on-Sea, and dealing with a wide range of presentations online at Headstrong Counselling. I am also a former ChildLine Counsellor.

I am a fully registered clinical member of the UKCP (membership no. 2011172151) and abide strictly by their code of ethics.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I strive to provide an anti-oppressive, inclusive practice. One of my therapy rooms offers step-free access and off-road parking, ensuring ease and comfort for all clients.
