About me

I’m a psychotherapist with more than 13 years of experience in working therapeutically with clients in private practice. In therapy, I aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where we can work collaboratively to address your needs. I’m open minded, compassionate and supportive. I value establishing strong rapport and invite you to bring all parts of yourself including the aspects that you may dislike or struggle with.

I practice integrative therapy which means that I work with a range of different therapeutic models depending on what you need. I’m a firm believer that the therapy model should fit around the individual person and not the other way around. I see it as my job to understand your needs and what works best for you and adapt my approach accordingly. We will do this together.

My integrative practice is underpinned by Person-Centred values. This means accepting you as the complex and multi-faceted human being that you are, providing compassion and support, working with integrity and authenticity and not pathologizing or judging you. I use a combination of therapeutic models, including IFS (Internal Family Systems), CFT (Compassion Focus Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Analytical Therapy) and Psychodynamic therapy.

My main areas of specialism include working with trauma, sexual trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, worry depression, low self-esteem, sexual issues, chemsex, addiction issues, relationship difficulties, identity struggles and obsessive compulsivity. I also have expertise in working with LGBTQ+ communities and in Gender Sexuality & Relationship Diversity.  I am a sex and kink positive therapist and have extensive experience working affirmatively with people in non-monogamous relationships. I also enjoy supporting neurodiverse and disabled clients.

I grew up in the south east of England and moved to London at 18. A few years later I relocated to Manchester where I trained at The University of Manchester. I regularly go between London and Manchester and I am a keen traveller whenever I get the chance to go and explore new places, cultures and people.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
