About me

Counselling and Psychotherapy in Enfield Town and Cambridge.

People often seek counselling or psychotherapy when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in repeating patterns. You may be struggling with relationship difficulties, anxiety, low mood, or a sense that you know what needs to change but cannot quite move forward. I offer a safe, thoughtful, and confidential space where we can explore what is happening for you and work towards meaningful change.

I have worked in private practice as a counsellor and psychotherapist since 1997, and I currently offer psychotherapy and counselling in Enfield Town and Cambridge. With over 27 years’ experience, I have supported adults facing a wide range of emotional, psychological, and relational difficulties.

Counselling and Psychotherapy for Relationship Issues
I am most frequently consulted by people experiencing relationship issues, whether in intimate partnerships, families, or the workplace. Relationships can be a source of deep fulfilment, but they can also bring some of our most painful challenges. Therapy can help you understand repeating patterns, develop healthier ways of relating, improve communication, and make clearer choices about your relationships.

Therapy for Anxiety and Depression
In recent years, many people have sought my help for anxiety and depression. This may include persistent worry, panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, or a general sense of low mood and loss of enjoyment in life. Some clients come with a diagnosis such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or panic disorder, while others simply know that something feels wrong. I have developed particular experience in this area and have helped many people reduce symptoms, regain confidence, and reconnect with enjoyment and meaning in their lives.

Personal Development and Achieving Your Potential
Many people know what they want or need to change—leaving a toxic relationship, changing careers, or developing healthier habits—yet feel stuck in repetitive cycles. Through counselling and psychotherapy, we can explore the underlying blocks that hinder progress, clarify what matters most to you, and reconnect you with your motivation, purpose, and direction. This work can support both personal growth and optimum performance.

My Approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy
My priority is to create a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where you can explore your concerns at your own pace. I believe that people are complex and unique, and that no single psychological model can fully explain an individual’s experience.

I work using an integrative approach to psychotherapy, drawing on a range of therapeutic models according to your needs. These include:

Transpersonal and Existential Psychotherapy
Process-Oriented Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
This flexible approach allows the therapy to be shaped around you rather than fitting you into a particular framework.

I am committed to ongoing professional and personal development and have completed three terms of personal psychotherapy, alongside continued training and clinical supervision.

Clinical Supervision
I am a fully qualified clinical supervisor and provide supervision for several counselling organisations, as well as individual psychotherapists and counsellors. If you are seeking professional supervision, please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements.

Training and Group Facilitation
Alongside my clinical practice, I have facilitated psychotherapy and personal development groups and delivered training, workshops, courses, and seminars on a wide range of mental health and wellbeing topics, including:

Stress and anxiety reduction
Bereavement
Suicide and self-harm
Food and mood
Eating disorders
Relationship issues
Anger management
Mindfulness meditation

Training, qualifications & experience

Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, I worked as an entrepreneur and as a sales and negotiation trainer. I was awarded my postgraduate diploma in 1997 by the CCPE (Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education). I am a member of the UKCP. I also hold a postgraduate diploma in 'counselling and psychotherapy supervision'.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked as a counsellor within the NHS and for several mental health charities.
