Integrative Counsellor and coach MBACP (BSc, MA)

About me

At its core, what I do as a counsellor and therapist is help you make sense of your inner world. Your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, so you can better understand yourself and navigate life with more clarity and self-compassion.

My function is to be a supportive, trained guide in your self-exploration and life transitions. I work integratively, using a variety of methods and approaches, curated for your therapeutic experience. I am a counsellor, coach, and a Reiki practitioner, working with the Human Experience on multiple levels.

My approach involves listening deeply, asking thoughtful questions, and reflecting back what I hear to help you gain insight. I help you untangle what's going on inside, recognise patterns, and access your own inner resources, so you can heal, grow, and make choices that align with who you are and what matters to you.

I work relationally, meaning that the relationship between us being an important part of the therapeutic experience.

My work largely focuses on those experiencing major life transitions, including understanding of identity and relationships. I work with, although not limited to, those experiencing anxiety, OCD, feelings of being misunderstood, and those wanting to understand how early attachments and life experiences shape who they are today.

I believe in a holistic approach to our work, seeing you as a whole person, rather than just your symptoms. I shine a light on the parts that may have been too difficult to face alone.

The work we do together works at your own pace with a safe built on honesty and authenticity

A bit about me:

I am a multidisciplinary professional with a background including visual anthropology, dance, psychology, counselling and criminology. I am a therapist, teacher, creative, and Reiki practitioner, using my experience to aid others through their life's journey.

Previously, I owned and operated my own café for nine years, which fostered my sense of community, empathy, and appreciation for our shared diversity. Currently, I own and manage The Twelfth House, a creative and wellbeing in which I host a monthly creative club. I run workshops and retreats ranging from theory-based content to nature-based therapies.

I teach level 4 Counselling with applied psychology. This role enables me to keep up to date with current trends and is an honour to teach future counsellors. I also have teaching experience on the PdDip Counselling and Coaching course at the University of East London.

I believe creativity is essential to the human experience, providing people with a voice that transcends words. I am dedicated to helping others explore their own creative expression, especially when words alone aren’t enough.

Alongside counselling, I offer room-blended sessions which involve art, movement, body work, and walk and talk therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
