Hello...
I understand first-hand how difficult it can be to make that first step of reaching out for help, and I’m so glad that you are here. It may be that you have experienced events in the past that are impacting your life now, or are currently going through some dark times, and need support in navigating your way through?
Perhaps you have been feeling anxious or depressed and just want to feel better? Or are there changes in your life that you are struggling with? You might know exactly what you need to work through…or you may not understand exactly what is going on, but you know something just doesn't feel right.
I can help.
I’m an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, and accredited member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), with specialist CPD/ experience in working with schools, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ issues and relationship diversity (e.g. Consensual Non-Monogamy/ Polyamory).
My therapeutic style is warm, empathic and non-judgemental. I aim to create a safe, confidential and open-minded environment in which you feel comfortable to talk about anything that you are struggling with, or needing to explore.
The therapeutic relationship between us is essential for this process to be effective. This means that I work from the philosophy that trust, empathy, boundaries and acceptance are cornerstones of our work together. I am not, and never will be an expert on you; only you can take that role. Consider yourself the driver in this process, and me as an active passenger: my job is to be open to your pathway; to ‘see the wood for the trees’ when you feel lost; and to facilitate a way forward that is right for you.
As an integrative ‘talk’ therapist, this means that I tailor the therapy to your individual needs, and do not work from a singular model. My work is underpinned by Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and elements of Psychodynamic theory, alongside a wide range of other creative approaches such as music, play, stone and art therapy. Most importantly, counselling will work at your pace, and be in service of you at all times.

What to Expect After Contacting Me
If you have called and left a voicemail, or emailed me, I aim to get in touch with you within 24 hours.
I then offer a free initial telephone consultation (up to 20 mins), after which there is no obligation to book a counselling session.
If you would like to book an appointment after this consultation, and I feel that I can meet your therapeutic needs, we will then arrange a suitable time for your first counselling session.
Each session is 50 minutes in duration, and frequency/ number of sessions remains open to negotiation and review, with your needs central to the process.
During your first session, I will go through a verbal contract with you which outlines all of the necessary information for us to work ethically and safely together, and I will email/ give you a paper copy of this contract to sign, ready for the following session.
The rest of the session is then free for you to begin sharing with me what has brought you into therapy…and the journey begins.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
