About me

Winner of the Private Healthcare Awards 2021 for Most Dedicated Online Counselling Service - London, by GHP Magazine

www.ghp-news.com/winners/counselling-here-and-now/

I am a highly experienced professional counsellor with twenty years of working background in mental health and trauma issues.

I believe that people are more than their diagnosis, in fact my therapeutic approach is Holistic, Humanistic, and Integrative. This means that I consider you to be the main expert of your own life, while my role is to enhance connections with inner needs, using a variety of creative , empowering tools to promote inner discovery and self-awareness. I use a variety of creative tools, combining CBT with Gestalt and Person -Centred Therapy.

I hold a safe space for you where it is possible to explore any obstacle that is currently affecting your  life.

Talking and offloading can help enormously in navigating through life's  challenges.

I work with a variety of people from diverse communities, religious backgrounds, gender identity and sexual orientations.

I am experienced in counselling students, carers, people affected by trauma and mental health issues. I deal with anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder,  panic attacks, feelings of sadness, depression, loss, bereavement, intrusive thoughts, eating disorder, addictions, low self-esteem, relationships and attachment difficulties. I also offer EAP Counselling to organisations.

Training, qualifications & experience

Following the completion of a BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology, I obtained a BACP recognised Diploma in Gestalt Counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I fully adhere to their code of ethics. I belong to the accredited register recognised by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care and I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society.

I deliver a Humanistic- Integrative approach drawing from a variety of psychological interventions such as Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques, according to the specific needs of the client in any particular moment.

In addition to my private practice, I am experienced in working within NHS multi-disciplinary CMHT teams, Universities and Organisations.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
