About me

Hello, I’m Stav. I am a Person-Centred Experiential Psychotherapist based in Glasgow, working online with clients across the UK.

Finding a therapist can be daunting, especially when starting therapy means turning towards parts of your life that feel overwhelming, confusing or painful. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can slow down, explore what is going on for you and start taking steps towards positive change.

I have experience supporting people through a wide range of difficulties, including:

  • anxiety & depression
  • low confidence & self-esteem
  • relationship problems
  • important life transitions, including immigration
  • issues related to sexuality & gender identity

Also, having lived, studied and worked in the UK for almost a decade, I have a particular interest in working with people who are navigating the challenges of living and working outside their home country.

How I work

My approach is Person-Centred Experiential, which means that I believe that when we are met with understanding and acceptance in a consistent way, we can begin to grow and move towards meaningful change. Therefore, I will offer a safe space where we will work collaboratively towards exploring your thoughts, feelings and patterns. I also draw on the theory and techniques of Emotion-Focused Therapy to facilitate understanding and processing of emotions that feel difficult or stuck.

I see you as the expert on your own life and the agent of the solutions to your problems. Drawing on my training and experience, I will work alongside you, supporting you in gaining clarity and understanding of your issues, as well as identifying inner resources to help you cope better and see progress towards your therapeutic goals.

I practice in a relational and inclusive way. I welcome people of all genders, sexualities, races and religious backgrounds as well as those who are neurodivergent or living with a disability. My aim is to create a space free from judgement, where you can feel accepted as your whole self.

Next Steps

If the way I work resonates with you, you are welcome to get in touch to ask questions or arrange a session. I also offer a free 15-minute initial consultation which can help you determine if we are a good fit to work together. I aim to respond to enquiries promptly.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
