About me

Grief can feel disorientating. It is not just sadness — it can affect you emotionally and physically in ways you may not expect. You might move between tearfulness and numbness, struggle to sleep, overthink conversations, or find it difficult to concentrate. You may feel unable to speak openly about your loss, as though you are navigating it alone, or as though you “should” be coping better.

You are not alone in this.

I support adults experiencing bereavement, relationship endings and significant life changes. Grief can bring anxiety, guilt and anger, and may resurface older emotional wounds you thought had long been resolved. In our work together, I offer a gentle and steady pace where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. We will explore your unique grieving process, helping you feel less overwhelmed and gradually rebuild a sense of stability and self-trust.

I also work with young people aged 13–17 who may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, friendship difficulties, family changes or social pressures. Emotional distress can present differently in adolescents — through withdrawal, anger, tearfulness or a loss of confidence. I provide a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship, supporting them to better understand and manage their emotions.

My Approach

My work is client-led and collaborative, placing you at the centre of the process. I prioritise building a trusting therapeutic relationship, as I believe this forms the foundation for meaningful and lasting change. Within a steady and non-judgemental space, clients often begin to feel more confident in understanding their emotions and more able to trust themselves again.

Through therapy, I can support you to:

  • Develop greater self-awareness and emotional understanding
  • Understand patterns, coping strategies and protective responses
  • Process grief and loss at a pace that feels manageable
    Rebuild self-trust and confidence
  • Strengthen your relationship with yourself and others
  • Move forward with greater clarity and purpose

You do not have to face this alone. If you feel ready, I offer a free introductory call to explore whether working together feels right for you or your child.

Training, qualifications & experience

During my four years of training, I volunteered with agencies that worked closely with clients in crisis, offering immediate emotional support during some of their most difficult moments. As part of my placement, I also volunteered as a bereavement counsellor within a hospice, completing over 100 hours of work with individuals who were navigating the loss of a loved one, as well as supporting carers through the final stages of their loved one’s life.

Alongside this, I worked as a crisis recovery worker, supporting clients during periods of acute distress and helping them find ways to strengthen their mental health and overall wellbeing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
