About me
Life can sometimes feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to figure out. You may be struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, loss, or a feeling that you're stuck repeating the same patterns without knowing how to break free.
Perhaps you notice a familiar knot in your stomach, a tightness in your chest, racing thoughts, or the sense you are carrying a weight you don't know how to put down. Sometimes we know we are struggling, but don't know where to begin or even have the words to explain what is happening.
But change is possible, and sometimes all it takes is the right support, a fresh perspective, and the opportunity to be truly heard.
My approach to counselling is warm and compassionate, a space where, together, we can begin to explore the challenges you are facing. Through this process, you'll begin to reframe unhelpful patterns of thinking, strengthen your self-belief, and gain a renewed sense of balance and wellbeing.
As our work progresses, you'll develop new perspectives and resources that empower you to face life's challenges with greater resilience, clarity, and confidence.
Training, qualifications & experience
- BSc (Hons) Degree and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Matrix College of Counselling & Psychotherapy.
- BA (Hons) Inclusive Practice and Integrative Working - supporting my understanding of inclusive, individualised and compassionate practice.
- Registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
- Continued professional development in trauma-informed and somatic approaches, exploring the connection between mind, body and emotional wellbeing.
Experience
Before my work as a counsellor, I have worked with people in a range of settings, including:
- Supporting women and individuals affected by trauma and abuse within a women's refuge setting.
- Working as an Appropriate Adult within police investigation centres, supporting vulnerable people during stressful and unfamiliar situations.
These experiences have deepened my understanding of the impact that trauma, adversity, relationships and life experiences have, and the importance of creating a safe space where people can begin to understand themselves without judgement.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
