About me
Do you ever feel like you're carrying more than everyone else can see?
Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-doubt, loneliness, or a sense that something doesn't quite fit. You may feel pulled between different expectations, cultures, identities, or responsibilities, leaving you unsure where you belong.
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can speak openly about whatever is important to you. Together, we can explore your experiences, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, process difficult emotions, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
My core approach is Person-Centred Therapy, meaning our work is guided by what feels most meaningful to you. My role is to work alongside you with empathy, curiosity and acceptance.
Alongside Person-Centred Therapy, I draw upon:
- Compassion Focused Therapy for self-criticism, shame and self-worth
- Trauma-Responsive Mindfulness to explore how stress and anxiety affect the mind and body
- Bereavement and Loss approaches for grief and significant life changes
- Expressive Therapy when creative approaches can help explore experiences beyond words
Rather than following one fixed method, I adapt therapy to meet your individual needs.
As someone who grew up in Nepal and later trained as a counsellor in the UK, I understand some of the complexities that can arise when navigating multiple cultures, identities and expectations. This experience informs my work and helps me create a space where clients don't feel they have to constantly explain important parts of themselves before feeling understood.
I particularly welcome:
- Global majority and diaspora clients
- Migrants and people living between cultures
- LGBTQIA+ clients
- Neurodivergent individuals
- Artists and creatives
- Young adults navigating life transitions
Starting therapy can feel like a big step.
To help you decide whether I'm the right therapist for you, I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation.
This gives us an opportunity to discuss what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
There is no pressure to continue. If we decide to work together, we can arrange your first session. If not, I will do my best to help you find alternative support.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

A Culturally Responsive Approach
Many people worry they'll spend therapy explaining their culture, family expectations, experiences of migration, racism, discrimination, sexuality or identity before they can begin talking about how they actually feel.
My aim is to create a space where those experiences are recognised as important rather than treated as an afterthought.
Being culturally responsive means understanding that every person's identity, culture and lived experience is unique. Even where we may share aspects of identity, I don't assume your experiences are the same as mine. Instead, I approach your story with openness, curiosity and respect.
This approach was developed during my placement at Headstrong Counselling, where I received specialist training and supervision in culturally responsive practice while supporting clients from a wide range of backgrounds.
Alongside this, my work is informed by ongoing MSc training, continuing professional development in cultural competence, and my lived experience as a Nepali-British therapist navigating life between cultures.
If you've ever felt misunderstood, caught between different worlds, or tired of having to explain yourself, therapy can offer a space where all parts of you are welcome.
