About me

Invitation

You are warmly invited to take the seat with me, Simone, at my counselling practice.

A space where you can express yourself freely and make sense of what has brought you to counselling, without judgement. I offer empathy, warmth and insight.

You are welcome, just as you are. Take a seat.

About me

I love meeting people and hearing their stories, what makes them feel alive or what weighs them down. As a counsellor, I offer gentleness and compassion, challenge when it’s welcome, humour when laughter can heal, and room for tears when they need to fall.

I work as a counsellor, supervisor, a clinical lead for a counselling charity and I am also a tutor of counselling skills.

Open to all

I work with those seeking support as an individual, a couple, or in any type of relationship.

You may struggle to know what you want, how to say it and how to be heard and understood. Often, what we bring is interwoven with our past, our present circumstances and our hopes for the future.

Together we can navigate a way forward.

Experienced

I have a wealth of experience working with those in relationships and as individuals through life's changes and challenges.

For those in a couple or relationship, I work with you with whatever you would like to bring; free of agenda. I offer a space to talk about your concerns, fears and hopes. I facilitate communication, and provide opportunity to explore any repeating patterns and conflict.

I offer a calm supportive space for blended families and those co-parenting, to talk through the often unexpected practical issues and feelings you face.

For those living with or exploring neurodiversity, I am here to support you as you navigate a world that does not always make sense.

I can support you with anxiety, panic attacks, and the weight of trauma, also informed by my own lived experience.

I bring informed support to those navigating the challenges of pregnancy and baby loss.

This is an opportunity for you to pause, explore, and work together on what matters to you.

Online or in person sessions

I am based in Norwich, Norfolk, at my private practice and offer sessions either in person, in a warm and welcoming setting, or online from a place that works for you.

I offer afternoon and evening sessions.

What to do next?

Feel free to send me an email at info@taketheseat.org.uk or send a text or give me a call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Online sessions for couples/relationships

Online counselling can be a supportive way for couples and those in a relationship to get help together. You can join from a space where you feel safe and comfortable, without the stress of travelling or being somewhere unfamiliar.

You can connect on one screen together or from two different locations, whatever works best for you. Being at home may help things feel calmer, making it easier to listen, share, and really hear each other.

We’ll create space to explore what’s coming up for you in a way that feels steady, supportive, and respectful for both of you.
