About me

There are times in life when we are presented with challenges and unplanned circumstances, and our responses to them can be difficult for us to understand and navigate. I completely understand how such times feel and how daunting it is to consider therapy. I am a qualified counsellor, and I work collaboratively with my clients to understand what they are feeling and experiencing. I offer a safe, calm space where clients can talk about whatever they would like to talk about and feel heard and not judged.

I believe in the potential of every individual to work through the challenges they are facing and to reach a point where they are able to reset and reach their full potential.

I have experience of working with a variety of presenting issues. I can offer face-to-face or online therapy for individuals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trained Person-Centred counsellor, and I also draw on different modalities of counselling to support your individual and unique needs. Most importantly, I will support you in discovering your own inner resources so that you can develop a greater sense of calm and harmony in your life.

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and I have also had training to work with Young People.

My practice draws on Person-Centred, Humanistic and Integrative modalities.

My approach is warm, gentle and empathetic, giving you a non-judgemental space in which to explore issues you may be struggling with. My practice is underpinned by the values of honesty, trust and respect. I have experience of working with a variety of presenting issues.

I work with adults, young people, older adults, and trainees.

I can offer long-term face-to-face work, online therapy and short-term face-to-face work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My first session

I am keen that you find a counsellor who you feel comfortable with and that we both feel we can work together. Once you make initial contact with me, I will offer a free 20-minute telephone conversation, so that you can talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling and you can ask about how I work and what you can expect from our sessions. You can also use this initial phone call to ask me any questions you may have, so that you can decide whether you would like to have your first counselling session with me.

If you would like to proceed to have counselling sessions with me, we will arrange a mutually convenient time for further counselling sessions. Each session is 50 minutes long, and in your first session, we will explore the issues that have brought you to counselling and what you would like to achieve. My aim is to provide a safe, calm counselling space where you can talk things through and find the strength and clarity to move forward.
