About me

Welcome,

I am a warm, and caring person by nature and a qualified person-centred therapist who will work with you in a confidential, and non-judgemental manner.

Together, we will build a genuine therapeutic relationship that works by exploring your own unique experiences and difficulties from your own perspective in a non-judgemental, safe space, felt with empathy and compassion. Through this you will gain a deeper understanding of your own thoughts and feelings to which you can experience therapeutic change and move forward in your life whatever that may mean for you.

However, I do understand that therapeutic change can take time and sometimes we need that bit extra to help cope with life's challenges that are happening in the here and now. If you feel you do want that extra support I am also qualified to integrate CBT techniques into our work together.

If you feel I may be the right therapist for you please do get In touch for a free confidential chat. You can contact me by phone, text or email me whichever way feels right for you.

Practical information

I offer counselling for adults and young people (16+) from my private practice based in Beeston, Nottingham.

Appointments available daytime and evening. I currently offer face to face sessions or telephone sessions.

I am currently offering the first initial session for free.

Training, qualifications & experience

In conjunction with private practice I also gained experience through working for a counselling charity in Leicestershire where I provided counselling to people with a wide variety of issues.

The qualifications I hold in counselling are the following-

  • BACP Certificate of Proficiency
  • CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic skills & theory
  • CPCAB: Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • CPCAB: Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB: Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

I am a registered member of the BACP professional body (Membership No: 00977205).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
