About me

Why Choose Me

I am an approachable, down-to-earth person-centered therapist committed to providing a safe, trustworthy, and confidential space. Because I work relationally, my first priority is ensuring you feel comfortable. Together, we will work collaboratively and at your pace to make sense of your experiences, explore patterns, and figure out the path forward.

My role is not to advise you or tell you what to do. Instead, I work hard to truly understand your world, offering gentle observations to help you navigate whatever you choose to bring to our sessions.

Areas of Experience:

I support adults of all ages through life's many challenges, including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Low Mood
  • Loneliness
  • Isolation
  • Burnout
  • People Pleasing
  • Relationship and family difficulties
  • Workplace challenges and professional relationships
  • Family estrangement
  • Low self-esteem
  • Past trauma
  • Bereavement
  • Navigating change and life's transitions (such as career changes, family life, parenthood, menopause, becoming a carer, or the empty nest)

I also have experience supporting those who are neurodivergent, or going through a related diagnosis of ADHD, Autism or AuDHD.

Additionally, I have a special interest in women’s mental health, providing a dedicated, understanding space for women to explore their unique experiences and well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In addition to my private practice, I have over 5 years experience working with clients through the counselling service at MIND and with NHS Talking Therapies.

I have also worked in Finance in various corporate settings over the years. I therefore, have lived experience working with professionals in high pressured roles and the stresses this can bring to everyday life.

CPCAB - Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

CPCAB - Certificate in Life Coaching Studies

I undertake regular supervision and training in line with the BACP requirement and ethical guidelines.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Taking the first step:

I understand it can be difficult and time-consuming to find the right therapist. Therefore, I aim to make taking the next step as straightforward as possible.

If you feel we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out via email [using the email contact button].

After you have contacted me via email on counselling directory, I will send you an initial email with details of the service I provide.

I will ask a few questions, for example:

  • Why are you accessing counselling now?
  • Have you had any mental health support in the past (counselling, therapy, other mental health services), if so was this this helpful?
  • What do you hope to get out of therapy?

If we establish we are able to work together I will look to book an initial 50 minute session with you.

If after the initial session we decide I am not the right person for you, I may offer a signposting referral.

Please contact me for availability.  I offer sessions during the day and evenings.

Available for online video sessions via zoom / no current availability for face to face sessions.
