About me

About Me
I’m Sharon, a psychotherapist offering short- and long-term therapy across Brighton and Hove, working both face-to-face and online. Life can sometimes feel heavy—leaving us stuck, anxious, or unsure of which way to turn. In these moments, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin making sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I draw on psychodynamic and relational modalities to gently explore how early experiences and relationships may be shaping present-day struggles. Together, we begin to understand how these patterns influence your sense of self, your relationships, and how you move through the world.

How I Work
I believe healing and meaningful change occur within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. My practice is reflective and deeply empathic, blending thoughtful challenge with emotional care. We begin by gently unravelling what may be standing in the way of a richer, more fulfilling life—supporting you in reconnecting with your inner vitality and cultivating relationships that feel more joyful and authentic.

I work with a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, including:

Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression and low self-esteem
Grief and loss
Addiction and stress
Sleep issues and insomnia
Relationship and intimacy challenges

My History:

With over 15 years of experience supporting complex children and adults in health settings including the NHS and children’s services, I bring a grounded, trauma-aware lens to our work together. I’ve worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and thoroughly enjoy supporting people through both lower-level and more complex emotional needs.

First Session

Our first session is a gentle starting point—an opportunity to get to know each other and explore what’s brought you to therapy. We’ll talk through your personal history, current challenges, and hopes for the future. The pace is guided by what feels right for you, and you’re welcome to ask questions at any time. By the end of our meeting, we’ll begin shaping a clearer picture of your goals and how we might move forward together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
