About me

Reaching out for support can feel daunting, and I understand how vulnerable it can be to take that first step. Whatever you're going through, whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of where to turn, you don’t have to go through it alone. People come to therapy for many reasons, perhaps you're experiencing loss, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or past trauma. Maybe there’s no clear reason, but you feel unsettled, disconnected, or like something is missing. I provide a space where you can explore these feelings without judgment, at your own pace. As humans we can be self-critical, and my approach helps to cultivate a more supportive and understanding relationship with ourselves.

I offer individual therapy for adults (18+), both short-term and long-term, depending on what feels right for you. We can work together on specific challenges or take a more exploratory approach. Sessions are held in person or online.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in the mental health sector for over 10 years. I started as a Volunteer and over time progressed to a Service Manager for community-based mental health services in the Midlands. I currently work for a local organisation as the Lead Therapist, where I manage the service and trainee therapists to support clients with a wide range of presenting issues.

My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I work with an Integrative approach, specifically Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory, which means I tailor therapy to your unique needs while fostering self-compassion, emotional resilience, and acceptance.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I know how important it is to find the right therapist, which is why I offer a free no obligation 15-minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions, share what’s on your mind, and get a feel for how we might work together. If we both agree you would benefit from counselling with me, we begin with an initial assessment session (50 minutes at £60) where we explore your concerns, therapy goals, and how I can best support you.

Therapy is charged at £60 a session (50 minutes).

Discretionary rates for trainee counsellors and low income are charged at £50 a session.
