Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, MBACP, (MA)

About me

Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or struggling with relationships, confidence, or the impact of past experiences. You may find yourself constantly putting others first, questioning your worth, feeling disconnected from yourself, or carrying the weight of grief, loss, or difficult life experiences. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

I am an Integrative Therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. My approach is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), allowing me to tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I have a particular interest in understanding how our relationships, life experiences, culture, identity, and environment shape our emotional wellbeing. I recognise that many of the difficulties we face do not exist in isolation, and together we can explore not only what is happening for you, but also the wider context of your life and experiences.

I work with adults experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, confidence issues, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds, complex trauma, bereavement and loss, work-related stress, academic pressures, life transitions, and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed. Whether you are seeking support with a specific issue or looking to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space for reflection, healing, and meaningful change.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling genuinely heard, understood, and accepted can be a powerful catalyst for growth. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, explore difficult emotions, and develop a deeper understanding of who you are and what you need.

I welcome people from all walks of life and am committed to providing a compassionate and inclusive environment where you are treated with dignity, respect, and care.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BSc in Counselling Practices and Principles with Criminology and an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. My training enables me to draw from Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), adapting my approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

Throughout my professional experience, I have worked within a large charity setting, supporting clients experiencing domestic abuse, complex PTSD, anxiety, menopause-related challenges, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, divorce, and a range of other emotional and psychological difficulties. This work has included both short-term and long-term therapy.

I have also worked within bereavement and loss services, supporting individuals through grief, significant life changes, and difficult transitions. In supported living services, I have worked alongside individuals experiencing homelessness and complex life circumstances, providing therapeutic support and facilitating wellbeing workshops focused on resilience, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

In addition, I have experience working within a university setting, supporting students navigating academic pressures, emotional wellbeing concerns, identity issues, and personal challenges.

My diverse experience has given me a deep appreciation of the many factors that can influence mental health and wellbeing. I am passionate about offering therapy that is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the realities of each person's life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This is a chance for you to ask any questions, learn more about how I work, and get a sense of whether we would feel comfortable working together.
