About me
I offer a safe and respectful space where you can bring any concerns you may have about your emotional and mental well-being. Sessions with me are confidential and non-judgemental, inviting you to express yourself freely and talk openly about anything in your life that you find distressing or upsetting. I’m here to listen to your thoughts and feelings and worries, and help you reflect on your experiences, both present and past. Together, we will try to make sense of what you are going through. As you begin to understand yourself more, this can help you feel less in the grip of your problem, so you can become freer in your choices and begin to make changes in your life. Over time, therapy can help you develop a less conflicted and more complete sense of yourself.
Some clients come seeking help with a particular concern, such as low self-esteem, a bereavement, or a traumatic experience. Other clients are troubled by a general sense of dread, anxiety, or low mood, and want help putting their concerns into words. Clients who feel unhappy in their relationship may consider couples counselling, where their partner can join them, and they can try to work through their difficulties together.
If you recognise yourself in this and would like to find out if I may be able to help you, please feel welcome to contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, qualified to work with both couples and individuals. I trained at Tavistock Relationships, an internationally-renowned provider of relationship counselling. I obtained a clinical qualification in Couple and Individual Psychotherapy, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I also hold an MA in Couple and Individual Psychotherapy from the University of East London. More recently, I completed a certificate course in Jungian clinical practice with the Society of Analytical Psychology.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I earned a DPhil in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, where I subsequently taught for several years.
In addition to seeing clients in my private practice, I am a visiting clinician at Tavistock Relationships. I also work at Brasenose College, Oxford, and see both graduate and undergraduate students for short-term counselling support.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I normally charge £75 for individual sessions, and £90 for couple sessions. Where possible and appropriate, I offer a reduced fee to clients aged 18 to 25, starting from £50 per session. I do not ask for a notice period if you want to end your therapy. I bill monthly in arrears.
Further information
While therapy can be an immensely helpful and enriching experience, it is also a big commitment, in terms of time and money, and also emotionally. I usually suggest that we meet for 2 or 3 initial sessions, for you to get to know my therapeutic style and ask any questions you may have. It will also allow me to get a sense of your situation and the difficulties that have led you to reach out. If it then feels to both of us that I am the right therapist for you, we can arrange weekly sessions. Otherwise, I will endeavour to refer you to a colleague who is more able to meet your therapeutic needs.
