About me
Sarah is a qualified Doctor in Counselling Psychology with 18 years’ post qualification experience of working within the sector. She currently offers face to face therapy and online therapy to individuals age 18+ who present with a range of mental health issues. She can offer both short- and long-term therapy to clients.
Sarah works as an integrative therapist, working with the whole person, focusing on thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical systems of the individual. Integrative therapy incorporates a range of therapies such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Using a combination of therapeutic approaches allows her to work with a wide range of presenting issues, ensuring that therapy is tailored to each individuals needs and circumstances.
Sarah also provides supervision to qualified therapists and therapists in training.
Training, qualifications & experience
Sarah has experience of working for the NHS in GP practices, private practice and various charities in a psychological profession. She has gained considerable experience working with young adults, adults and older adults with a range of mental health challenges. Before setting up a successful private practice in Harrogate, Sarah worked in London for several years for a national cancer charity, as the organisations Healthcare Manager.
Sarah undertook her psychological studies at The University of Teesside, gaining the following qualifications:
- 2003 Batchelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Psychology (major) and Counselling (minor)
- 2004 Post Graduate Diploma (PgDip) in Counselling Psychology.
- 2006 Doctorate Degree in Counselling Psychology (D,Couns.Psy).

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
