About me
Hello, I'm Sarah, and I'm here to provide compassionate, inclusive, and non-judgmental support. I understand that when you're not feeling your best, finding the right person to help can feel overwhelming. Well done for taking the first step today—this could be the most important step in your journey to healing and growth.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is vital in therapy, so I work with you to create a safe space where you can explore anything troubling you, including the hidden, painful, or protected parts of yourself. Experiencing acceptance and compassion helps to build a secure relationship where you can openly express yourself, feel gently challenged, and know the relationship will remain unchanged no matter what you say.
Everyone is unique, and therapy is different for each person. I will tailor my approach to your individual needs and take your lead, as you are the expert in your own life. Together, we can explore how past experiences, including trauma, affect you mentally, emotionally, and physically, helping you better understand yourself. This understanding can be incredibly validating, reminding you that you are doing the best you can under the circumstances.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or hopeless, please reach out. These feelings are temporary, and with support, things can improve.
As a humanistic, integrative counsellor, I believe that no matter what we've been through, we all have the potential to heal, change, and grow. The road to healing can bring up strong emotions—sadness, anger, shame, fear, grief, and anxiety. These feelings can surface for various reasons, but rest assured that all of them are welcome. I'll be here by your side, providing a safe and supportive environment as you navigate your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Memberships of Professional Bodies:
I am a registered member of the BACP, British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and I am bound by and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

It's important to find the right therapist for you, so this is a chance for you to ask me any questions you might have about me, my practice, and therapy in general.
If we decide to work together, we'll schedule in our first appointment, working around our mutual availability.
Sessions are 50 minutes long, either weekly or bi-weekly. If you require longer sessions, please get in touch with me and we can discuss your needs.
I offer both long and short term therapy.
