About me
I am an experienced person-centred counsellor and supervisor providing counselling for children (10+), young people and adults. I offer a warm, down-to-earth approach in a calm and confidential space, providing professional support as you navigate challenging times in your life.
I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, supporting them with emotional and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, family issues, traumatic events, pregnancy and birth, the transition to parenthood and experiences navigating life as a neurodivergent individual.
I offer long and short-term therapy in South Buckinghamshire, both face to face and online.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a counsellor, I offer therapy through my small independent practice, Nurture Counselling, and work part-time as a school counsellor, providing therapeutic support to young people aged 10 to 18 and staff.
My previous counselling experience includes working in a BACP-accredited, community-based counselling organisation with adults facing a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges.
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, I continue to practise as a midwife for a local NHS Trust, caring for women and families through pregnancy, birth, and the early stages of parenthood.
These combined roles have given me a deep understanding of the different emotional challenges people encounter throughout life's transitions, and the skills to offer counselling that is compassionate, age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and inclusive.
I hold a level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling and a level 6 in counselling supervision. I am committed to continuous professional development and have completed additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma, adverse childhood experiences and neurodiversity, in addition to pregnancy loss and traumatic birth. I also have Honours degrees in both nursing and midwifery.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Once we are in contact, I will arrange for us to have a free 15-minute telephone conversation or video call to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, explain how I work and offer an opportunity for you to ask me questions.
If you then decide that working together feels like a good fit, we can arrange an initial session and I will send you a registration form and my practice terms, so you have everything you need ahead of time.
Regular sessions are 50-mins and usually on a weekly basis.
I am also happy to offer referrals where necessary, so that you can find the help you need.
