About me
Drawing on over 25 years of experience across teaching, SEND, safeguarding, leadership in early years, primary, secondary and specialist settings and advisory roles, I am also a qualified and UKCP-registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist.
I provide highly specialist, trauma-informed support for children, young people, families and schools. My work is informed by attachment-aware and neuro-affirming practice, neuroscience and psychodynamic theory.
I work with children and young people from 3 to 18 years old in my private practice based at Hill View School, Martock, Yeovil (outside of school hours). I can work online if this is developmentally appropriate and clinically suitable.
Individual therapeutic support is tailored to the unique needs of each child or young person. I am trained to work with the arts and through play, including sand tray therapy. However, my strategies will depend on the individual’s preferred way of working.
I see the purpose of psychotherapy as being able to process the deeper root issue of what might be impacting an individual’s wellbeing.
I am also able to support parents and carers navigating through challenges with their child or young person.
Although I am trained as a Child Psychotherapist specialising in work with 3 to 18 year olds, I have also additional training in working with adults using EMDR. I am currently undertaking specialist EMDR training to work with children and adolescents.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
If parents or carers are referring their child or adolescent for therapy, I ask that an enquiry form is completed and I ask for an hour session with the parent or carer to discuss the referral. This assessment will help determine if the referral is appropriate and give us an opportunity to discuss the therapeutic process.
