About me

I offer assessment, formulation and evidence based psychological intervention to adults, adolescents and couples.  I approach therapy with a compassionate, authentic, non-judgemental stance.

I am experienced in working with a broad range of clinical presentations including anxiety (e.g. generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD) and depression as well as supporting  people through difficult life circumstances (e.g. divorce, bereavement, stress and burnout) and ill health (e.g. MS, persistent pain, cancer, etc). I offer neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic, ADHD and otherwise neurodivergent people

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience working primarily in the NHS, but also charity, research and private settings supporting people experiencing a range of psychological difficulties. I draw on a number of evidence based models and ideas to inform my practice. I am especially passionate about CBT and its third wave approaches including ACT and Compassion Focused Therapy. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy) which can be helpful for addressing issues related to trauma.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
